Your microbiome is the soil of your health. What you put into it matters.

Creating a product you can trust isn’t our goal. It’s our standard. That’s why every ingredient in LOAM is carefully sourced, screened, and validated for purity, potency, and quality before it makes it into your scoop or sachet. And we take extra steps to ensure that your finished product meets the highest threshold for safety, too.

But we know that in a crowded industry of brands asking you to take their word for it, receipts are crucial. So let's take a detailed tour through all of our safety checkpoints—from ingredient testing to toxin screening for heavy metals and phthalates.

1. Ingredient Testing

Before we even assemble your LOAM, every ingredient undergoes independent third-party testing.

We confirm:

  • Sourcing: Every ingredient is GRAS-certified, a designation from the FDA that a substance is safe for consumption. Each ingredient is also backed by a body of research.
  • Identity: Tests confirm that each ingredient is exactly what it claims to be.
  • Purity: We screen to ensure that there are no unwanted contaminants.

Only after each ingredient passes these checkpoints does it move on to the next step of our manufacturing process.

2. Product Production

Your LOAM is produced in facilities that follow Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) guidelines to ensure consistency, safety, and integrity in every batch. These are regulations enforced by the FDA to ensure that products are consistently safe, pure, and effective.

3. Finished Product Testing

It’s in our DNA to dig a little deeper. That’s why we also test each of our finished lots for quality, microbes, and factors like gluten levels.

This isn’t necessarily the standard in our category, but it's non-negotiable for us.

  • Microbial safety: Every finished batch of LOAM meets strict quality standards.

  • Gluten: Our soluble wheat fiber undergoes a process to remove its gluten protein, so that our finished product tests under the FDA’s gluten-free threshold of 20ppm.

  • Packaging: We pressure test seals and ensure that your LOAM is safely packaged.

4. Toxin Screening

What doesn’t belong in your body doesn’t belong in LOAM. It’s why we also take the additional steps of verifying that our products test below key thresholds for toxins like phthalates and heavy metals.

  • Heavy metals: Including lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury. LOAM is Prop 65 compliant, testing under the strict standard set by the state of California.

  • Phthalates: These are chemicals that can sometimes be introduced during the manufacturing process. LOAM is phthalate-free.

A Note on Heavy Metals

Trace heavy metals are found in our soil… so when plants naturally draw in nutrients and minerals through their roots, they can sometimes take in those metals, too. That’s why it’s not uncommon for products like plant-based protein powders and fiber blends to have trace amounts. The same goes for the fruits and vegetables you eat!

But when it comes to the safety of your LOAM (and your microbiome), we prefer to take no chances. That’s why we’re proud to be compliant with California’s Proposition 65, which sets one of the strictest standards for chemical exposure in everyday products. Our products also test thousands of times lower than global health-agency tolerable intake values set by the FDA, EFSA, and WHO.

FAQs

Is LOAM approved by the FDA?

Dietary supplements are not approved by the FDA. However, LOAM is manufactured in cGMP-certified facilities and adheres by safety standards reinforced by the FDA.

How is LOAM gluten-free if it contains wheat?

We use a purified soluble wheat fiber that undergoes processing to remove gluten proteins. The finished product tests below the FDA’s gluten-free threshold of 20 parts per million (ppm), qualifying it as gluten-free. If you have a wheat allergy or a specific condition like Celiac, it’s best to work directly with your physician.

Is LOAM vegan?

Yes. LOAM contains no animal-derived ingredients and is fully vegan.

What ingredients are not in LOAM?

No artificial sweeteners, no sugar alcohols, no added sugars, no preservatives, no fillers, and no cheap commodity fibers.
